Product Description
These are the handlebar mods originally known in the C14 world as "Phil's Wedges", developed by philipintexas (as he's known on the ZG/GTR forum). Phil decided to stop production of these, and allowed me to pick them up. Incredible machine work, made in the USA
From D. Bortnick, a satisfied customer: "First time out on my C-14 since installing the wedges, they really improved my ability to sit more upright, take strain away from neck and lower back. It's amazing how so little can do so much. Felt like a new set of handle bars. Thanks.
" The "Wedges" are a pair of machined aluminum shims shaped like the base of the handlebar stanchion, with a gentle angle added, the thin side being nearest the steering bearing. They go between the base and top-clamp (if you're using risers, the wedges would go on top of them) and the wedge shape tilts the stanchion toward the steering bearing which elevates the handlebar ends about an inch and makes them more horizontal. It also brings them closer to the pilot a small amount. The effect is to remove some of the compound twist in your wrists. They come with special washers made with the same gentle angle that allows the bolt heads to bottom correctly. They don't affect the hydraulic lines much and can be used on top of riser blocks. You have the option of ordering the wedges with bolts needed to be installed with our riser blocks, or just using the wedges under the stock bars. There is also the option of ordering longer bolts in the event you are using taller risers. One other note to mention: if you now have riser blocks and want to try the wedges with and without the risers in place, you can order a set of bolts separately for use with just the wedges. If you are running riser blocks, be sure to choose the right option regarding height.
