A ball bearing replacement set for the plastic sleeve bushing that is OEM. Inspired by a thread started on the concours.org/zggtr.org website by joefech.
The do it yourself kit comes with all the needed bearings, spacers, and shims, plus instructions on our Knowledge Base page.
We can supply you a factory fresh shifter, with rubber toe boot and the bearinged up shifter parts installed and ready to go.
Please note, use a light spread of "Locktite" on the bore of the shifter before installing the bearings

I have added the option to purchase bearing locker and a purpose machined punch to remove the factory plastic bushing.Greatly simplifing the job!

Bearing up shifter
Ladies and gents, this bearing up shift kit will make your C1400 shift so much better. I always had an odd clunk shift from first to second gear, after this install, it eliminated it. To also add, every shifting points are now alot more crisp. The part took me about 20 mins to install with the deluxe kit thanks to MURPHS. My C1400 will be needing maintenance item soon, Kits from Murphs will only be the ones I get. MURPHS kits and products will always be awesome in my books !

Bearing Upped Shifter Kit
Bought the complete kit and couldn't be happier, old shifter plastic bushing looked ok, but there was a lot of slop that made gear changes unrelated;iable in the use of force to move the shifter up or down. This kit made shifts nice and crisp, no slop and no missed ups or downs. Well worth the money and I know it will outlast the bike due to its construction. About ten minutes to do the swap, and I took my time doing it.

Works well, beware shim may be stuck to nut
It threw me off a bit because the shim (which we have to use) was stuck to the nut (which we do not use). I separated them with pliers and some tapping on the shim.
Other than that, it's so smooth! I'm looking forward to test ride now. -
Bearing Up Shifter
Installers easily and is a huge improvement over the stock bushing arrangement. Finding neutral is now an easy task and shifting is slick.

Bearing upped shifter
I have an 08 C14. I must say I was skeptical, but this is a well-thought-out product. Installation was simple and straightforward. I noticed a difference right away. The shifts felt crisper and everything felt solid. That being said, I do have 60K miles on her and a new bushing could have given me a similar feeling, but this should last forever. Metal bearings vs thin nylon bushing. All in all a great product and I would highly recommend it to any C14 rider.

Very easy to install, smoother shifting ( not that it was hard to begin with )and well worth the cost.

Great investment
Easy to install if slightly mechanically inclined. Took about 15 minutes. No wiggle room at all anymore in the shifter and super smooth.

It works as described. It did not come with any instructions, but I was able to look up a tutorial on youtube. It was simple to install and works as advertised.
